Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
Message Deleter (the "Service") is owned and operated by Aleksandr Chermashentsev, an individual sole trader based in Phuket, Thailand ("we," "us," or "our"), who is the controller of the personal data described here. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What stays on your device
The extension uses your own logged-in session on the chat platform it works with to delete messages. Your platform session token and the content of your messages never leave your browser and are never sent to us.
Information we collect
- Account data: your email address, if you sign in or buy the Lifetime plan.
- License data: whether your account has a paid license, the purchase date, and the Paddle customer and transaction identifiers needed to verify it.
- Platform identifiers: your platform user id and username, used to apply the free daily limit and attach your license to your platform accounts.
- Usage data: technical events from the extension and website (for example, the extension version, error codes, and per-run summaries such as how many messages were deleted). These never include message content.
- Support requests: the email address, subject, and message you send us.
- Technical data: IP addresses, processed briefly for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
Payment data: payments are handled by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. Your card details and billing address are collected and processed by Paddle under Paddle's Privacy Policy; we never see or store your full card details.
How we use it
- To provide the Service, apply the free plan's daily limit, and unlock paid features (performance of a contract).
- To verify purchases and process refunds with Paddle (performance of a contract).
- To answer support requests (legitimate interest).
- To detect errors, prevent abuse, and improve the Service (legitimate interest).
- To send essential service emails such as sign-in links. We do not send marketing emails.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service:
- Paddle.com — payment processing, tax, invoicing, and refunds (Merchant of Record).
- Google Cloud / Firebase — hosting, database, sign-in emails, and logs.
We may also disclose information where required by law.
How long we keep it
Account and license data are kept while your account exists. Daily usage counters are deleted after 45 days and run summaries after 180 days. Support requests are kept as long as needed to resolve them. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, they use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, and Thailand's PDPA), you can ask to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and object to or restrict its processing. Email support@messagesdeleter.app and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Cookies and local storage
The website uses only the browser storage needed to keep you signed in and run the checkout. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. The Paddle checkout may set its own cookies as described in Paddle's policies.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and access to it is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page with a revised date, and give notice of material changes.
